Today bone transplantation is a common procedure in orthopaedics and is the second most transplanted tissue after blood. Since bones from donors can be stored for almost 20 years, bone banks in hospitals have been providing services such as donor screening, recovery, processing, storage, and/or distribution of allograft tissue (transplanted bone or tissue from another person).
It is crucial that bone or tissue is stored safely, sterile, and at temperatures well below freezing point, typically
between -70 to -80°C /-94 to -112°F.
The LiNA Osteotainer – double Storage Sterile Container Set - is a safe, easy-to-handle and sterile solution for deep-frozen storage spongiosa and other bone parts from e.g. hip surgery.
